As I have stated
on several
teacher
discussion
boards, and in
various
articles, the
main problem
with teacher
cover letters is
that they all
seem to blend
into one another
There are very
few teacher
cover letters that
actually stand
out from the
crowd.
Remember, those
on the teacher
interview
committee are
likely reading
100s of cover
letters so it is
important to
make your
teacher cover
letter
stand
out!
Below is an
example of how a
student of mine,
now applying for
teaching
positions, took
this advice on
teacher cover
letters and
really made his
cover letter
stand out.
**Important:
I did not
write any of
this cover
letter. It was
written entirely
by a college
student of mine
with exception
of where I
removed names,
dates, phone
numbers etc.
**TIP**
Don’t pay so
much attention
to the content
of this cover
letter, but
rather the
format of the
cover letter.
As someone who
has read
thousands of
teacher cover
letters I can
honestly tell
you that this
teacher cover
letter would get
noticed. A bold
headline,
bulleted points,
AND a P.S…yes,
that would get
noticed and that
is the most
difficult part
of any teacher
cover letter…getting
noticed.

LETTER*****
I know it is
difficult for
some teachers to
accept this
style and
approach to
writing a
teacher cover
letter, but
hopefully it
will at least
get you to think
a little
differently
about that
traditional,
somewhat dull,
teacher cover
letter.
Feel free to
discuss this
some more on the

Machine Forum @

Hope to see you
there…
